Shipping

Our books are typically shipped within 24 hours of receipt of order.

All orders shipped to destinations within the United States will ship free of charge per standard USPS mail; typical delivery times are between 5 and 14 business days. International orders ship free per standard airmail for order amounts above $500. Priority mail options are available at a fee.

Shipments are packed with great care, shipped in sturdy boxes and fully insured. International shipments are sent with complete customs documentation.

Options to expedite orders are available during check-out, we use FedEx for our courier shipments.

Store Policies

All prices of our listed products are in US Dollars. We accept credit cards (Amex, Visa, MC) direct or through Google Checkout or PayPal, we further accept Money Orders, and Checks (we might hold your shipment until your check is cleared). Please send PayPal payments to Payments@BooksTellYouWhy.com.

Buyers specifying a South Carolina address agree that a 8.5% state tax will be added to their book purchase.

Any item may be returned within ten days for any reason. If you wish to return an item in the original condition, we ask that you notify us first, preferably by phone to obtain instructions for traceable return shipping (FedEx recommended) and insurance options. The whole purchase cost (incl. two-way shipping & handling) will be refunded if our listing is inaccurate or if the shipment is damaged. Returns outside of a ten day window are available to Discerning Collector Membership owners at the time of purchase.

Consistent with, and exceeding the policies and Code of Ethics of the Antiquarian Booksellers' Association of America (ABAA) and the Universal Autograph Collectors Club (UACC), Books Tell You Why guarantees the authenticity of autographed items for the lifetime of the original purchaser, i.e., Books Tell You Why will provide a full refund of the original purchasing price incl. two-way shipping at any time where lack of authenticity can be proven and where proof of purchase is supplied by the original purchaser.

Google Preview and eBooks

Books Tell You Why might choose to display "Google Previews" of the content of books listed for sale. The content visible in "Google Preview' is for information purposes only and must not be used for bibliographical comparisons with the book listed for sale, it might change at Google's discretion and might very well be from different editions or publications than the book listed for sale.

Listings might further contain references to eBooks in the "Similar Books" section. eBooks made available for sale or are separate from any listing of physical books offered from the inventory of Books Tell You Why. Purchases of eBooks are separate transactions and, similar to above mentioned previews, not to be used for bibliographical or contextual comparisons with physical books offered by Books Tell You Why.
