An attractive panorama of Clement C. Moore’s, "A Visit from St. Nicholas" in Very Good condition with some age related wear and fading to the boards. This volume is published with 12 printed color lithographs on one side only in an accordion-fold format. Approximately 34 inches wide when fully opened, paper covers are printed in dark green ink. The Illustrations are reminiscent of both Thomas Nast and F. O. C. Darley. The back of the wrap has advertising for Prang’s Album Cards. St. Nicholas is shown in a golden rather than a red suit. One of five tiny volumes sold as a Christmas Stocking Library. The Library of Congress issued a facsimile in 1976. Louis Prang introduced the Christmas card to America.
