One day, a magic portal opens up in their garden and a beautiful princess walks through it. The princess says she is looking for a hero to free her from a dragon, and Thomas volunteers to go. He takes his best friend, a lion, with him and they set off on their adventure. Along the way, they meet other dwarves, dragons, and other magical creatures.
