Death of a Man-Tamer is an autobiographical novel written by Miles Tripp. Tripp tells the story of his life as a professional rodeo cowboy and his struggles with alcohol and drug abuse. The book is divided into three parts: the young Tripp, the man-tamer, and the recovering addict. In the first part, Tripp tells the story of his childhood in a small town in Texas. Tripp's father is a rodeo cowboy and his mother is a rodeo queen. Tripp is a talented horseman and he grows up idolizing his father. Tripp joins the rodeo circuit as a young man and becomes a successful man-tamer. In the second part of the book, Tripp tells the story of his addiction to alcohol and drugs.
