An edition in Very Good condition that has some soiling and faded discoloration to the board edges; PRETENDER, MAN OF NO TRADE, and BILLIONAIRE, Horace Kephart was born on a small farm in Alabama in 1879. He grew up working on the family farm and then studied law. In 1913, he moved to St. Louis and opened a law office.

In 1915, he published his first book, The House of Mirth. He wrote short stories and articles for magazines and newspapers. In 1922, he published his first novel, The Great Gatsby.

In 1927, he published his most famous book, The Heart of the West. The book is about a man named Horace Kephart who travels to the west coast of America. Kephart writes about his experiences and observations of the people and the land.

Kephart died in 1939.; 8vo; 313 pages.
