A nice first US edition in unread Fine condition in alike dust-jacket, small hairline cut at bottom of spine, SIGNED by author Cornelia Funke directly on the title page. Despite a full number line 12-1 easily recognized as a later printing with "08" as print year, additional titles listed opposite from title page being "The Thief Lord", "Dragon Rider", "Inkspell", "Igraine the Brave", and slightly re-designed dust-jacket with price of $24.95.

German born and US resident Cornelia Caroline Funke (December 10, 1958), award-winning author of children's fiction, best known for her Inkworld trilogy (Inkheart, Inkspell, Inkdeath) and her Venice based first novel The Thief Lord, basis for the successful movie of the same name.

Cornelia Funke was voted into the Time magazine's list of the 100 most influential people of 2005.
