First US edition, first printing, following the British edition in Fine condition in Near Fine, slightly rubbed dust-jacket. Signed by author Gerard M. Devlin on his personal book-plate including his address. Inscribed by Devlin to Jim Williams, son of W. T. Sampson II "#1GP". Mr. Sampson is noted in the index to the rear of the book and was one of the first Glider Pilots. Opposite the Foreword it also includes a Christmas 1985 inscription of Mr. Sampson to his son Jim "Hope you enjoy this as much as I did, being a part of it". A most attractive association copy.
