A Fine edition limited to 500 copies, minor rubbing to back board, original photo-illustrated end-papers. Mason Williams signed and inscribed this particular copy "To Romain" [Johnston] in January 1967 with a note "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour". Emmy and Grammy award winning Williams, in addition to being the noted guitarist and composer of the legendary title "Classical Gas", wrote for the Comedy Hour and also wrote poetry. Fellow Emmy award winning art director Romain Johnston, also nominated for an Academy Award for art direction, died in 1995. This copy was part of the estate of Romain's widow Gloria Johnston who passed away in September 2013. An attractive association, rather uncommon, rare to see signed.
Designed by Edward Ruscha with photographs by Patrick Blackwell, The Night I Lost My Baby is Williams' fourth book. ; B & W Photographs.
