Two volumes, cream cloth-backed red-cloth boards, beautifully decorated with gilt on both boards, titles and decoration on spines, t.e.g., satin book markers, in the publisher's gilt stamped red-cloth dust-wrappers, the whole enclosed in the matching gilt-stamped slipcase; pp. 475; 478, each volume with 30 photogravures with captioned tissue-guards. The "Florentine" edition. Books are fine, without flaw; jacket spines are very slightly faded, else fine; slipcase faded and a little rubbed, insides and uncovered base age-toned (from the glue). An extraordinarily lovely production, beautifully preserved.

With publisher's original matching red cloth over cardboard slipcase stamped, decorated, and titled in gilt.. The books are about fine. Some softening to heads/heels of spines. Light offsetting to end-papers. Exteriors and interiors are, otherwise, bright, fresh, and clean with no internal markings. Tightly bound. Square. The dust-wrappers are about near fine with some light fading to the spines. Otherwise, bright, fresh, crisp, and clean. Inner flap corners trimmed (publisher)? The books are about fine. Some softening to heads/heels of spines. Light offsetting to end-papers. Exteriors and interiors are, otherwise, bright, fresh, and clean with no internal markings. Tightly bound. Square. The slipcase is very good or some better. Some soiling and staining to cloth and exposed cardboard surface(s). No seam splitting or separations.
