An old and undated small advertisement in very good condition for trips on the Maid of the Mist to view Niagara Falls from the river below the American side of the Falls. The brochure, having four pages, measures approximately 5 1/2 inches x 3 1/2 inches with an illustration of the Maid of the Mist in action on the river on the front page and an images of the Falls on the rear. While the brochure is undated, the proprietor's offer to provide "Waterproof Clothing" for seventy-five cents provides a hint of the brochure's date. In addition to providing facts about the Falls, the brochure provides a pair of relevant quotes, one from former Maid of the Mist passenger Anthony Trollope: "I know of no other one thing so beautiful, so glorious, so powerful." and one from Maid of the Mist passenger Theodore Roosevelt: "The only way to fully realize the Grandeur of the Great Falls of Niagara." The Maid of the Mist began providing Niagara boat tours in 1846, and a successor boat, the Maid of the Mist V, continues to give such tours.

An informative book signed by G. Koltanowski describes the origins, world records and tactics of chess. Chess enthusiasts alike would enjoy this read. The paper slip cover has pictured a chess board with colored pawns; 92 pages.
