Debt of Honor is a novel by Tom Clancy. It tells the story of Jack Ryan, a young man drafted into the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. Ryan is assigned to the 1st Marine Division, which is then deployed to Vietnam. The 1st Marine Division is involved in many significant battles, including the Battle of Hue and the Battle of Khe Sanh. Ryan is wounded in the Battle of Khe Sanh and is sent home to recuperate. Ryan returns to Vietnam as a lieutenant colonel and leads the 1st Marine Division in several more battles, including the Battle of Ia Drang. The 1st Marine Division is eventually disbanded, and Ryan is honorably discharged from the Marine Corps.; 8vo; 766 pages.
