In Eureka, William Diehl tells the story of a small town in Montana that is beset with a mystery. For years, the townspeople have been complaining about a strange noise that they claim emanates from the top of a nearby mountain. Nobody knows what to do about it, until a young man named Jack comes up with an idea.

He proposes that the townspeople climb the mountain and find out what's causing the noise. The townspeople are skeptical at first, but they eventually decide to go along with Jack's plan. As they ascend the mountain, they begin to realize that the noise they've been hearing is coming from a group of mysterious creatures that they had never seen before.

The creatures are strange looking, but they are also friendly. The townspeople are able to peacefully coexist with the creatures, and they are able to learn a lot about them. Jack is even able to make friends with one of the creatures; 8vo; 440 pages.
