She starts to feel like she's missing out on something important and decides she needs to find her place in the world. Addie starts to look for clues to her place in the world in her neighborhood and eventually finds her way to the library. There, she meets a librarian, Mrs. McIntyre, who helps Addie find her place in the world. Mrs. McIntyre teaches Addie about the importance of learning, and she helps Addie find her place in the world by giving her a key to the laurels.
