Magazines

If you collect rare books, there are probably several magazines that would complement your collection. These publications can be quite scarce because they're usually printed on less expensive paper and because people tend to see magazines and other periodicals as disposable objects of temporary utility. But magazines are incredible artifacts, offering more than simply the stories listed on the table of contents, Magazines are an important window into a time period; they often delve into contemporary events and contain advertisements for period products and services. While the earliest known magazine was launched in Germany in 1663, the first general-interest magazine is generally considered to be the Gentleman's Magazine, first published in London in 1731.
