Archaeology

Archaeology is the study of human activity as reflected in the artifacts and remains of those activities. It is one of the few disciplines that can be considered both science and humanity. It emerged as a field in the 19th century Europe with the rise of antiquarianism and the discovery that the earth was really billions of years old. Early archaeologists were soon investigating sites all over the world. The allure of ancient civilizations has perennial appeal. Rare book collectors who are interested in archaeology will find a wealth of remarkable titles to add to their libraries.
