Cholera breaks out in London, claiming at least 3000 victims in 1832. Lewis Carroll is born on January 27, 1832. Alfred Nobel, the Swedish inventor of dynamite and the creator of the Nobel Prize is born on October 21, 1833. In 1835, a Belgium railway is opened between Brussels and Mechelen. It is the first railway in continental Europe.
