Fantasy

The elements of the fantastic have long been a staple of fiction and fable. But fantasy fiction as we know it is only about two hundred years old. Perhaps the greatest work of fantasy is The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. He had an incredible influence on the genre of fantasy, and it was his books that made fantasy a commercially viable genre.
