Much of the material was published in the North Carolina historical review and also separately in 1936 under the title: A bibliography of eighteenth century North Carolina imprints, 1761-1800. This volume starts with the year 1749, the year printing was introduced into North Carolina with James Davis setting up a press in New Bern.
