This book tells the story of Walter Mosley, a black man who rose to become one of the most notorious gangsters in America during the 1930s and 1940s. Mosley was born in the Deep South in the early 1920s, and his early life was marked by poverty and discrimination. He began working as a porter at a hotel in Miami, and soon became involved in the criminal underworld. Mosley became a key member of the Miami Mafia, and in the early 1930s he started working as a hitman for the Chicago Outfit. In 1941, Mosley was indicted for racketeering and murder, and he fled to Europe to avoid prosecution. Mosley returned to the United States in 1948, and he was eventually sentenced to life in prison. Mosley died in 1968, but his story is still recounted today by historians and crime enthusiasts.; 8vo.
