A love story set against the backdrop of Ireland during the early 1960s. Tadhg and Lillie meet as children and fall in love, but Lillie's family is not interested in her relationship with a lower-class boy. When Tadhg is drafted into the Irish Army, he is forced to leave Lillie. Years later, they meet again and are both married with children. Tadhg is stationed in Germany, and Lillie is working as a nurse in a Dublin hospital. They are unable to come back to Ireland, and so they write to each other, telling each other their stories and sharing photos. When Tadhg is released from the Army, he travels to Ireland to find Lillie. Along the way, he meets new friends and experiences different parts of Ireland, but he is always searching for Lillie. When he finally finds her, they share a beautiful reunion, and they are able to build a new life together in; 8vo.
