When Billy and his girlfriend, Becky, move from the big city to the small town of Westville, they have high hopes of starting over. But their dreams quickly turn into nightmares as they are the only black people in town.

Becky is harassed at school, and Billy is the target of racist slurs from the townspeople. They don't have a clue that they're living in a white supremacist town, and the only way to get out is to find out.

Billy and Becky team up with their old friend, Big Dee, to start a black-owned business. But even as they make progress, they know that they're up against powerful forces determined to keep them down.

Billy and Becky must learn to stand up for themselves, and to fight for their right to be treated fairly. They must also learn to trust themselves, and to believe in themselves.
