With its trademark wit and fresh perspective, The Witchfinder is the perfect book for fans of historical fiction. In 1586, England is in the grip of the Great Witch Hunt, a man-made hysteria designed to rid the country of its witches. When Simon, a young boy, is accused of being a witch, his family is forced to flee their home. Simon is ultimately found not guilty, but the experience has left him questioning his place in the world. Decades later, Simon's grandson, also named Simon, is a detective in modern-day Toronto. When a woman is found murdered with the words "Witchfinder" carved into her chest, Simon is called in to investigate. Simon is the last person anyone would suspect of being a witchfinder, but he has a history of hunting witches, and the evidence points to him. As Simon begins to piece together the woman's past, he realizes that the witchfinder's job is far from over.; 8vo; 306 pages.
