Robert B. Parker

Robert Brown Parker was born on September 17, 1932 in Springfield, Massachusetts. His is well known for his popular series about private detective Spenser. Parker’s fourth novel in the Spenser series, Promised Land (1976), received the Edgar Award for “Best Novel” in 1977. In 2008, he was awarded the Gumshoe Award for Lifetime Achievement. Robert B. Parker died on January 18, 2010 in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
